For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11

Learning rooted in faith, childhood, and the land

Sacred Roots Schoolhouse was created to return children to the kind of learning they were made for: faithful, hands-on, and grounded in the beauty of God’s creation. Set on family land, the school blends centuries-old academic fundamentals with the rich, natural life of the farm. Students spend their mornings in focused core subjects that have stood the test of time—reading, writing, arithmetic, faith, and virtue.

Afternoons unfold outdoors, where children learn through real, meaningful work: tending gardens, caring for animals, exploring nature, and experiencing the world God crafted for them. This agricultural, hands-on education sets Sacred Roots apart and gives children something most modern schools can’t offer—space to move, breathe, wonder, and grow in both wisdom and faith.

  • Faith-centered daily rhythms

  • Classical core academics each morning

  • Hands-on outdoor learning on the farm

  • Small class sizes and personal attention

  • Low-tech, high imagination childhood

  • A return to timeless, proven methods of learning.

Children tending a vibrant vegetable garden, guided by a teacher in a straw hat, with a backdrop of a white picket fence and distant chapel. The scene is lively, educational, and faith-inspired.

Meet Lexi & Michele

Lexi and Michele are a mother-daughter team who followed a shared calling to create a school where children could learn and grow in faith, wisdom, and the wonder of God's creation.

Lexi

Born and raised in Haubstadt, Indiana, Lexi has always cherished the simplicity, faith, and close-knit community that shaped her childhood. Now as a wife and mother of three, Lexi felt called to create the school she longed for her own children: faithful, hands-on, academically strong, and rooted in God’s creation. Building Sacred Roots Schoolhouse on family land has been a prayer answered, and she is honored to share that blessing with other families.

Michele

Michele and her husband, Jody, have spent 35 years raising eight children and now enjoy the blessing of six grandchildren. Michele has spent her life cultivating family, faith, and a love for the outdoors. She brings a wealth of experience, steadiness, and generational wisdom to Sacred Roots..
